Bullying
There are many organisations who are doing great work around developing or reviewing their anti-bullying policy. This section highlights a few examples of organisations we've worked with and whose approach to policy development are examples of good practice.
Involving Children and Young People
Children and Young People from across the Scottish authority were involved in a policy consultation process, using surveys to gather views. Junison would like to do that in the UK. We like our Scottish partners would like to launch a similar event or events through the schools.
In Scotland they held bullying events, young people from both primary and secondary schools spoke eloquently and passionately about bullying, through prose and poetry. The anti-bullying activity within East Renfrewshire raised awareness of the issue more broadly across the authority and many young people submitted their work to the national anti-bullying week annual competition.
Junison have been served by our Scottish partners and became a ‘critical friend’ in the process; offering our team supportive, constructive, consistent and accurate guidance. This approach provided the Junison staff with a practical and knowledgeable resource, allowing effective relationships to be formed and maintained throughout and beyond the process.
